Inspection Methods courses

The concentration of courses in Inspection Methods prepares our students for their critical role in evaluating item conformance. With item complexity increasing and companies entering the Lean and Agile environments, greater demands are being made on doing it right the first time. These courses are geared towards frontline employees.

Proper Measurement System Evaluations are at the center of these market demands; therefore, our focus is development of inspection capabilities beginning with basic blueprint reading. Additional blueprint capabilities add the elements of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to blueprint reading. Finally, measurement capabilities are added to correctly measure the called out Dimensions, Features, Datums, and Central Points.

Students may wish to supplement the Inspection course work with courses in elementary statistics to pursue Certification as Quality Technicians, Mechanical Inspectors, or Calibration Technicians.

For information about these courses contact the Associate Director, Walter Neuhengen or (847)437-8221  or  WNeuhengen@sandc.com
