This ten week course is aimed at introducing principles and practices of Lean and Kaizen for Continuous Improvement, Cost and Cycle Time Reduction, Elimination of Wastes resulting in immediate and sustainable bottom line results.
Topics include: Intro to “Lean” and “Kaizen”, The 8 Wastes of Lean, The Building Blocks of Lean, Incremental and Breakthrough Improvements, The eight week Kaizen Cycle, Kaizen Teams & Brainstorming, Lean/Kaizen Tools and Techniques such as 5S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, Quick Changeover, Quality at the Source (including jidoka and poka yoke), Kanbans, Cellular Operations, Total Productive Maintenance and Cultural Change Management. Value Stream Mapping and how to select Kaizen projects, plus Continuous Improvement vs. Corrective Action/Root Cause Analysis/Problem Solving, etc. will also be part of this Course.
