Six Sigma Quality Tools Demonstration

and

Six Sigma Quality Tools Implementation in actual Project

by Tom Dunn

Thomas Dunn, CSSMBB Owner, D-Bar Innovations

Mr. Dunn began his continuous improvement journey with the Black and Decker Corporation in 1982 and immediately began helping his company resolve challenging business inefficiencies and quality related issues. Over the years, as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, he has dedicated himself to business process improvement and has been a leader in Lean Six Sigma deployment and training solutions.

In 1999, Mr. Dunn launched Dbar-Innovations with the intent of delivering world class deployment and training solutions throughout the United States. Over the past 12 years, Dbar has helped a wide variety of industries in the US improve their quality, delivery, and cost by embracing the 5S, KAIZEN, PDCA, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.

To-date, Thomas Dunn has successfully lead 39 company deployments, participated in 17,348 process improvement projects, and trained several thousand skillful process improvement practitioners. During this period, Mr. Dunn has practiced what he teaches by significantly reducing deployment/project failure rate, deployment/project cycle time, and deployment/project cost.

Mr. Dunn, in addition to his ongoing Lean Six Sigma consulting work, has authored both easy to use statistical software solutions and easy to use web-based project management solutions.

PRE DINNER PRESENTATION

Title: Web-Based Project Management

Notes: All participants will receive the Hawkeye Project Management system.

Presentation: The ROI realized by any continuous improvement effort comes down to two basic functions. How well a company can pick their battles (Project Selection) and how efficiently they can fight those battles (Project Execution)? Savvy companies that effectively manage these two areas are companies that often perform at best in class levels.

This presentation will provide each participant the tools and the knowledge to both effectively select and execute projects using the least amount of time, money, and resources.

Presentation Topics:

 How to easily add process improvement ideas into Hawkeye system from anywhere in the world.

 How to select and launch the highest impact, lowest risk projects from the Idea Bank.

 How to successfully drive projects to completion while consuming far less time, money and resources than ever before.

 How to efficiently present and communicate project activity through the use of Hawkeye’s automated reports.

Who Will Benefit?

 Project Leaders

 Project Champions

 Project Mentors

 Executive Leadership

 Trainers and Consultants

Mr. Dunn is the developer of the Hawkeye project management system. He will provide each participant unlimited access to the web-based application and show each participant how to use it. Mr. Dunn will also be available to answer any questions participants may have towards the end of the presentation as well as during the one hour dinner break.

POST DINNER PRESENTATION

Title: Capability Analysis (Made Easy)

Notes: All participants will receive an easy to use Capability Analysis Wizard as well as access to a

complete Lean Six Sigma search engine/Toolbox.

Presentation: The output of any capability analysis used for process improvements should include more than just the process capability and stability information. This presentation will demonstrate how to fully leverage the valuable knowledge often overlooked when performing a capability analysis.

Presentation Topics:

 What do the CP and CPK acronyms really represent?

 How to use the provided Capability Wizard to easily perform a capability analysis.

 How to extract valuable knowledge out of every capability analysis.

Who Will Benefit?

 Project Leaders

 Project Champions

 Project Mentors
