What qualifications do you see as necessary in the new job market?
Experience in the broad aspects of quality management rather than merely the narrow orientation of SQC/SQA
What sort of interactions have you had with a quality guru or expert in the field?
I enjoyed the privilege of accompanying Dr. Juran on several plant visits within Armour and Company. Also, I have benefited from knowing and learning from Ralph Haertel, Mae-Goodwin Tarver, Marjorie Sutherland, Gayle McElrath, "Charlie" Hicks, "Jack" Henry, Lloyd Knowler, Bill Golomski, "Ridge" Park and John Condon.
What have you found most rewarding as a member of ASQ and why?
Association with other quality professionals (now known as "networking") which gives one the opportunities to increase one’s own capabilities and to assist others in personal growth
What have you found most interesting about your affiliation with ASQ?
The evolution of the work from a "technique oriented specialty" (the term is from Dr. Juran) to a managerial oriented profession. Also, affirmation of the characteristics of human nature.
