Industrial Trainer – Train individuals in quality, process control, blueprint reading, and basic computer skills.

Quality titles held:

Statistical Engineer, QC/QA Engineer, Quality Supervisor, and QA/EHS Manager

What do you see in the future for the Quality profession?

Leveling emphasis on manufactured product quality and more on software, medical products and services and service.

Where are the jobs in Quality?

Areas that I am aware of are automotive related parts and products, software, and medical devices. It appears some SQE jobs being created due to outsourcing and downsizing of manufacturing operations. "Six Sigma" jobs appear to be increasing.

What sort of interactions have you had with a quality guru or expert in the field?

I was a student of with Robert Peach, who was Quality Director at Sears and an instructor at IIT, and then implemented a quality program for Sear’s products. Also, worked with GE Quality Consulting Services to develop and implement quality programs similar to the current six-sigma approach.
